In this semester-long course you’ll build on your basic knowledge of classical Tibetan grammar and vocabulary and be guided through portions of select classical Tibetan literature. You’ll be introduced to different genres of literature, both poetry and prose.

You’ll have access to the course materials, which include videos, visual lectures (PowerPoint), and supplemental learning materials, for 12 months.

If you work hard and take your studies seriously, by the end of the course, you will:

  • Increase your familiarity with Tibetan grammar by encountering it in both texts and lectures.
  • Become familiar with some common and important genres in classical Tibetan literature.
  • Increase your classical Tibetan vocabulary.
  • Increase your general familiarity and fluidity with the classical Tibetan language.
